2020 Nissan Altima; Redesign, Release Date, Specs
The 2020 Nissan Altima, a large unknown sedan in Some Region Like Europe, is pursuing its career overseas with a new generation that is expected to revive the sales of a car that has been losing momentum for two years.
In recent years, the very conservative segment of the sedans has lost market share in the United States. The stars of the category that are the Toyota Camry, Honda Accord and Nissan Senta or Altima have all more or less receded, but the category remains very important for manufacturers, especially Asians, who trust the first places of the Top 10.
The 2020 Nissan Altima ranked 5th in the 2017 sales behind a quartet of rivals from the Far East, but it was two years since the figures for the Altima were declining. The arrival of a sixth generation at the New York show is so timely.
2020 Nissan Altima Redesign Dimensions
With 4.87 meters in length, this Altima is clearly not intended for European customers. The car is also in the category of sedans “Midsize” (averages) in the United States, the Americans basing their rankings not on the lengths of the vehicles, but on the space on board, so that a car of nearly 5 meters can be qualified “Medium” or “compact”.
Aesthetically, this new Altima quite clearly slices the previous generation, which was close to the Infiniti Q50. The front side would also not be reminiscent of one of its main competitors, the Honda Accord. At the back we find the double exhaust characteristic.
Finally, the main changes are on board with a new and much more modern presentation. The screen, which was previously embedded in the central console, now passes over the dashboard. A trend that we observe today in the car industry and that makes it possible not to have to look down to get information or manipulate multimedia and navigation.
Technical side, again, big upheavals are worth noting. The Altima offers for the first time the full transmission. The four-cylinder petrol 2.5 of 190 hp and 244 Nm is renewed, while the new variable compression-rate engine (inaugurated at Infiniti) arrives: This 250 HP 2.0 replaces the old V6. This 2020 Nissan Altima, which will not be sold in Europe, also has the Nissan ProPilot system, which makes it possible to adopt a semi-autonomous line.
